The registration for the 7th Formula Student Hungary started on the 8th of January 2016 following the expanded 3-phase process indicate that professional aspects and regional quota dominate beside speed.

The best proof of the popularity of the Hungarian race is shown by the fact, that in each phase the number of registrees exceeded the available places by multiple times, and during the second phase of the registration (open phase) getting into the competition depended on milliseconds only. Altogether 44 teams were able to get a starter position for FSH 2016 and there are several teams on the waiting list.

According to the status of the registration list on the 3rd of March 2016, teams from the following 15 nations will take part on the competition of Győr.
