Electric motor on four wheels
Gergely Bári, chairman of Formula Student KHT, said this year's great achievement was that a brand new car was built on a world-class level. His tenth car was presented by the crew of the FRT in the BME Hall J, where they were once again proven to be building on cutting edge technical solutions and technologies. This is also a challenge when working together with the pros, but it is a particular task for a foal team, where members for the first time in their lives had a completely new racing car. With this, the tradition of rotation is the essence of the Formula Student's essence, with the transitions that older engineers give their knowledge and experience to the new members. In the eight-year history of FRT, there were 350 active team members, competing with five petrol and four electric drives.
Fifty engineer students work in tenths: the FREC-005 is powered by 20,500 revolutions per minute per hub - 35 kilowatts and 21nm torque - and, according to simulations, the 230kg racing car reaches its standstill in three seconds a hundredth pace, which is the Formula 1 tempo, and the construction is the first in Eastern Europe. The 144-cell, 600-volt lithium-polymer battery stores up to 6.2 kilowatt hours of energy, with a maximum charging power of 91 kW. The system also recovers and stores braking energy.
Captain Boriszov Dániel at the FREC-005 premiere also said that after the construction and testing of the car, they would start in the Hungarian race, in the port of Gönyű, and in 2016 the goal would be to win the race.
