Hungarian MegaLux success

Students of University of Kecskemét were able to stand on the podium three times at the world competition, they deserved it!

They started and succeeded with super-economical combustion, two years ago throwing away gasoline and switching to solar energy, that is, from eco-marathon to Solar Challenge. The Kegaemux MegaLux car at the University of Kecskemét became their seventh in the World Solar Challenge in Australia in 2015, and in October this year, they outperformed Sasol Solar Challenge.

At the top of the car the solar energy was collected by six square meters solar cell, and the lithium ion battery stored it. The vehicle’s maximum speed is 130 km/h and its mass is 170 kg.

People and technology have done well, as they managed to reach the MegaLux car with 4033 kilometers, making it a triple podium.

There is a lot of work and knowledge in the MegaLux and the Hungarian team, which deserves recognition, as it has stood up against the best in the world, despite the fact that the winning Dutch annual budget is many times higher than Hungarian.
