Today’s engineering students will lay the foundation of future achievements

Three Hungarian teams are being sponsored by AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt at the Hungarian event of the Formula Student contest: SZEngine, Arrabona Racing Team and BME Formula Racing Team have entered the international competition among nearly 60 teams from 30 countries this summer.Students take part in the challenges with unique engine and vehicle constructions.Cooperation with universities and supporting young engineering talents is of key importance for the automotive corporation.

Audi Hungaria views young university students with an innovative approach as potential success factors. “Today’s engineering students will lay the foundation of future achievements. It is our pleasure to help these young people make their dreams come true and see them succeed at Formula Student, this great car- and motor racing event, which requires a great deal of professional aptitude and readiness”, Dr. Elisabeth Knab, Member of the Board of Management for Human Resources of Audi Hungaria said. “We consider the intellectual capital of university students and fresh graduates to be key assets we rely on”, Dr. Elisabeth Knab added.

This competition offers a great opportunity for supporting future experts, discovering talents and cooperating with the departments of the company. The phases of design, production and economic implementation do not only require engineering skills but team work and project management as well, which give these young people a lot of hands-on experience they can make use of during their university studies. “Our team looks back at several years of cooperation with Audi Hungaria, so the work and knowledge transfer is really efficient. We have gathered a lot of new information with regard to electric drive systems, which is an important area of development for us”, that’s how Gabor Sipos, graduate student in mechanical engineering, leader of the BME Formula Racing Team, summarized the advantages of the cooperation.
“Professional support means a lot for our team. The experts of the company help us like mentors”, Janos Kun, fresh graduate in vehicle engineering, leader of the Arrabona Racing Team pointed out. Mate Kungl, major in logistics engineering and leader of the team SZEngine, summarized the cooperation as follows: “Personal consultation and workshops are extremely useful for us and also help the individual professional development of each team member”.

Approximately 100 Formula Student participants are spending their traineeship at Audi in Győr currently. The automotive corporation has welcomed several participants among its employees ever since it started supporting Formula Student.

Nearly 2000 engineers work for Audi Hungaria, and over 700 engineering students spend their traineeship at the company each year.
